New Shorehaven Life@Home Coordinator Jamie Milaeger wants to provide for those who built the communities we thrive in today. And through Shorehaven’s new non-medical home care program, she knows she can.
Life@Home provides non-medical services to help keep seniors independent and at home. Built on its reputation as the trusted, faith-based resource of choice, Shorehaven will provide compassionate, professional staff to assist with tasks including housekeeping, organizing, laundry and ironing, shopping, personal errands, menu planning and preparation, dressing and grooming, escorting to appointments, and pet and plant care.
“We want to make sure that those seniors who wish to stay home, can stay there, as safely and as long as possible,” said Oconomowoc native Milaeger. “We want to give family the chance to be just that – family, to be able to enjoy each other’s company, without the worry. We’re providing that someone special to take care of the caregiving, while the family member can be the son, the daughter, the husband, wife or friend.”
Milaeger has her Bachelor’s Degrees in psychology and social work from UW-Whitewater. She has worked extensively with Prader Willi Homes and the Wisconsin Autism Project. She also volunteers with special needs groups. “I’ve always had a desire to help people. It’s an honor and a privilege to serve those who have paved our way in these strong and healthy communities. My grandparents instilled me the responsibility to give back to those who have given so much to you.”
Milaeger is enthused about joining the Shorehaven ranks, with 350 fellow staff and 340 seniors on campus. “I loved Shorehaven when I walked through the door,” she said. “I could feel the care and the happiness here. It was welcoming, felt just like home. The residents have so much to offer all of us. I’m excited about sharing the legendary Christ-centered care Shorehaven is known for.”
