A generous donation last year allowed Shorehaven to purchase its first bicycle rickshaw – called a trishaw – through Cycling Without Age, a program started in Denmark seven years ago that pairs volunteer cyclists with seniors.

Created as a means to break stereotypical thoughts about senior’s ability to engage in exciting, beautiful and meaningful activities, the trishaw bike brings the beauty of the community, experienced by the five senses, to seniors in a disability-friendly way.

Shorehaven residents will soon have an opportunity to go for a ride in our community while volunteer pilots get exercise, listen to stories and make new friends along the way.
